About Phil
Born in Rochdale 1957, Phil Barrett acquired his first guitar at the age of five. His main influence then was Hank Marvin of The Shadows. Mum & Dad bought him his first electric at the age of eight. At this time, Phil also took up the violin at school and joined the orchestra. New school, new orchestra sees Phil playing tuned percussion, and a piano - at home - that Mum bougt for £10 from The Salvation Army. Since then Phil has played in bands, been a succesful musician, record-producer, an unstoppable entrepreneur, a booking agent, a franchisor, an awarded Mensa member - and now a pubished author. TodayPhil is semi-retired due to Parkinson's but lives his life by his motto:
"I'll do what I can - 'til I can't."
